PINEWOOD DERBY

Pack 713 is home of the Pinewood Derby! Click here to read the full history of this enduring Cub Scout event.

The pinewood derby is one of our pack’s most popular and successful family activity. Pinewood derby cars are small wooden models that Cub Scouts make with help from their families. Then they race the cars in competition. The cars are powered by gravity and run down a track. Every scout can design and build his own "grand prix" car to enter in the race.

The Scout Derby

  • Scouts will compete with fellow members of their rank and awards are given to the top three fastest cars in each rank.

  • The three fastest cars will qualify for the District Pinewood Derby!

  • Scouts are also given recognition and/or an award for fun categories like

    • Best Paint Design

    • Most Creative

    • Best Street Rod

    • and more!

A Pack tradition not to be missed!
